Lite ante jeg om Rodins kjærlighetsliv da jeg innlemma dette bildet i oppslagstavla mi. Sannheten er at han langt fra har vært en ærlig mann. Camille Claudel ble tidlig i studietida Rodins elskerinne. Ikke nok med at han forsmådde Camille ... han har mest sannsynlig også kreditert noen av Camilles arbeider som sine egne.
Camilles liv fikk en tragisk utgang og ho døde ensom 19. oktober 1943, etter tredve år på Monfavet, et behandlingssted for psykisk syke.
